The FROG® @ease 2-IN-1 Water Care System Cartridge Holder is the universal floating dispenser that holds your @ease mineral and SmartChlor® cartridges in your spa. It's the same floating holder included in the FROG @ease Floating Sanitizing System starter kit — sold standalone for owners who need a replacement, want a backup, or are setting up a second spa.
If you already own @ease cartridges but the holder you originally got with the system is missing, broken, or showing wear, this is the part you need. The holder itself doesn't have a consumable lifespan the way the cartridges do — it just floats and holds the cartridges in place — but accidents happen: holders get bumped, sat on, or simply lost in the shuffle of cleaning out a spa during a refill. A spare is cheap insurance.
The design is purpose-built for the @ease system: the holder accepts one mineral cartridge and one SmartChlor® cartridge, holds them in the correct flow relationship to each other, and floats freely in the spa as water circulates around it. Do FROG® cartridges really reduce how much chlorine I use?
Yes. Because the minerals do part of the sanitizing work, FROG® systems need significantly less chlorine or bromine to keep water clean. The @ease line with SmartChlor® Technology, for example, can use a fraction of the chlorine of a conventional hot tub program while still keeping the water properly sanitized.
How do the pre-filled cartridges work?
Each FROG® cartridge comes pre-filled with the right mineral or sanitizer formula — there's nothing to measure or mix. You simply drop or snap the cartridge into its holder or dispenser, set it, and let it do the work as water circulates. When a cartridge is spent, you swap in a fresh one. How often do I replace the cartridges, and do I still need to shock?
Replacement timing depends on the product and your usage — mineral cartridges generally last for months, while sanitizer cartridges are swapped more often (the system's indicator tells you when). You'll still add a periodic shock to keep water freshly oxidized, but typically far less often than a fully manual program requires. Always follow the schedule printed on your specific product's packaging.
