ControlOMatic MegaChlor Replacement Electrode

The MegaChlor replacement electrode is only compatible with the ControlOMatic MegaChlor power supply. ControlOMatic MegaChlor replacement electrodes are specifically designed to retrofit your existing salt system on a hot tub or spa up to 1000 gallons. This replacement salt cell installs in just minutes: simply remove the 4 screws to open the ChlorMaker control box, loosen the 2 terminal post screws, and remove the old electrode. This cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.

The MegaChlor electrode simply drapes over the side of the hot tub into the water when you desire active spa sanitation, the spa doesn't even have to be on or running! The clear cell lets you see it working and allows for easy inspection.

Note: The optional inline electrode can also be installed out-of-sight directly into the existing spa plumbing when appropriate (see manufacturer recommendations).

Replacing the MegaChlor electrode will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old MegaChlor electrode has been depleted. The MegaChlor electrode sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin.

Replacement Electrode Installation Guide:

  1. Use a large screwdriver to unscrew the four housing screws on the back of the controller, then remove the lid from the main case. There is a gasket that lines the inner seam of the lid. If it falls out, place it back in the channel with the flat edge facing out, then press the corners in place with a small tool.
  2. Make sure the power supply is unplugged, then disconnect the electrode wires from the circuit board using a small flathead screwdriver to loosen the clamps in the wire terminal.
  3. Unscrew the round cap on the plug that holds the cable in place, then pull the cable free from the housing.
  4. Take your new electrode and thread the cable through the round plug (do not tighten it yet). After the electrode wire has been inserted into the controller through the round plug, take the ferruled ends of the cable and connect them into the clamps on the wire terminal where the previous electrode was connected, then take your small screwdriver and tighten the clamps. (see image below for connection order)...
  5. Take your wrench and tighten the round plug until tight, then take the lid (make sure the lid gasket is laying flat), put the lid on the controller and tighten screws as tight as you can without stripping them.
  6. Note: If your unit is a ChlorMaker or MegaChlor DO, connect both wires in any order in the Cell R and Cell B ports.

This replacement electrode for the MegaChlor is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The MegaChlor electrode has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement.

To get the most life out of your chlorine generator and to keep your spa running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.
