Spa Marvel X10 Water Filter | Hose Pre-Fill Filter

SKU: SP10
$69.99

Description

The Spa Marvel X10 Water Filter is a simple hose-end filtration system that cleans up your water before it ever reaches your spa or pool. It screws straight onto a standard garden hose — no plumbing, no tools — so the water you fill with passes through the filter first instead of dumping straight from the tap into your tub.

It matters because every fill starts the clock on your water chemistry, and the quality of that starting water sets the tone for everything after. Fill water carries sediment, metals, and other impurities — and those are exactly what cause staining, scale, and excess chemical demand down the line. Starting with filtered water means a cleaner baseline: less for your sanitizer and balancers to fight, and fewer contaminants waiting to discolor your shell or cloud your water.

One X10 treats up to 10,000 gallons, so it covers many fills before it's spent. And it isn't just for spas — the same filter cleans drinking water for RVs and boats, fills bowls and troughs for pets and livestock, and tops off fish ponds and aquariums. It's a versatile piece of gear that earns its place well beyond the hot tub.

Pro Tip: Never let the X10 dry out or freeze. The filter media has to stay moist to keep working, so put the endcaps back on between uses and store it somewhere that won't drop below freezing. A filter that's dried out or frozen won't perform the way it should.

How It Works

The X10 is an inline filter: water flows through the filtration media inside the housing on its way from the hose to your spa, reducing the impurities it carries before they ever reach the water. Instead of treating problems after they show up in the tub, you're keeping a portion of them out of the water in the first place.

Here's how it fits into a fill:

  1. The garden hose is flushed to clear out anything sitting in the line
  2. The X10 is connected to the hose end and briefly flushed to prime the media
  3. Water passes through the filter as you fill, leaving contaminants behind in the media
  4. Filtered water enters the spa or pool — a cleaner baseline for your water chemistry
  5. The endcaps go back on for storage, keeping the media moist and ready for next time

Because it works at a controlled flow rate, filling through the X10 takes a little longer than an open hose — that's the trade-off for letting the media do its job. Over its life it treats up to 10,000 gallons, which spans many spa fills or a long season of other uses.

Pro Tip: The X10 pays off most when your fill water needs it — well water and hard or discolored municipal water carry the metals and minerals behind staining and scale. Filtering those out at the hose means less stain-and-scale treatment and fewer surprises after a refill.

Directions for Use

Operating Range

  • Working pressure: 20–100 PSI (138–689 kPa)
  • Maximum flow rate: 2 GPM (7.6 LPM)
  • Temperature range: 35°–100°F (2°–38°C)

Setup & Use

  1. Before use, flush the garden hose to remove contaminants from the line.
  2. Connect the X10 Water Filter to the garden hose and flush for 60 seconds to prime it.
  3. Fill your spa, pool, or container through the filter.
  4. Replace the endcaps when not in use. Do not allow the X10 to dry out or freeze.

Care & Storage

  • Keep the media moist — install the endcaps between uses
  • Protect from freezing — store somewhere temperatures stay above freezing
  • Stay within the operating range — don't exceed 100 PSI or the maximum flow rate

Pro Tip: Filling through the X10 is slower by design — the 2 GPM maximum flow is what gives the media time to work. Plan for a longer fill, and don't try to force it by cranking the pressure past 100 PSI; that won't speed things up and can damage the filter.

  • Hot tubs, spas, and swim spas — filter every fill for a cleaner start
  • Pools — same hose-end filtration on a larger fill
  • RVs and boats — filter drinking and tank water
  • Pets and livestock — cleaner water for bowls and troughs
  • Fish ponds and aquariums — filtered top-off water

Works Alongside

  • Spa Marvel Water Treatment & Conditioner — start with filtered fill water, then dose the enzyme treatment; a cleaner baseline lets the system work even better
  • Spa Marvel Cleanser — purge the old plumbing with Cleanser, drain, then refill through the X10 for the cleanest possible fresh fill
  • Any sanitizer program — chlorine, bromine, salt, ozone, UV, and more; the X10 only treats incoming water

Spa Marvel® Brand FAQs

Does Spa Marvel replace my chlorine or bromine?

No. Spa Marvel is a water treatment and conditioner, not a sanitizer. You still need to maintain a chlorine or bromine residual and test your water regularly. What Spa Marvel does is break down the organic matter that feeds bacteria and consumes sanitizer, so most owners find they need considerably less of it to hold their target level. Think of it as making your sanitizer work more efficiently — not replacing it.

Is Spa Marvel really "chemical-free"?

Spa Marvel is an all-natural, enzyme-based formula derived from plant extracts, and it can reduce or eliminate the need for many of the extra chemicals in a traditional routine — clarifiers, defoamers, and pH adjusters among them. But because a registered sanitizer for sensitive skin doesn't exist, you'll still use some chlorine or bromine. Spa Marvel gets you as close to chemical-free as your spa can be, which is the brand's own way of describing it.

How often do I add Spa Marvel, and how much do I use?

One bottle treats a hot tub up to 500 gallons (about 2,000 liters) and lasts up to three months with regular use. At your next water change, simply add a fresh bottle. In a larger swim spa, use one bottle per month.

Can Spa Marvel help with hot tub rash, itching, or sensitive skin?

Many owners with sensitive skin — including those dealing with eczema or psoriasis — report that their water feels gentler and their skin reactions improve after switching to Spa Marvel, because it conditions the water and lets them run a lighter sanitizer load. It isn't a medical treatment, and you should still keep your water properly sanitized, but reducing harsh chemical exposure is often what makes the difference for irritation-prone skin.

Is Spa Marvel compatible with my water care system?

Yes. Spa Marvel is compatible with all hot tubs and every common water care system, including chlorine, bromine, salt systems, ozone, UV, ionizers, biguanides, and lithium. It supplements whatever sanitizer program you already run rather than conflicting with it.

Do I need Spa Marvel Cleanser and Filter Cleaner too?

For the best results, yes — especially at the start. Spa Marvel Cleanser purges biofilm and residue from your plumbing and equipment before your first treatment, which is important on a previously used spa. Spa Marvel Filter Cleaner keeps your cartridge flowing freely, and clean filtration is essential to how the enzymes work. Many owners run the Cleanser at setup and use the Filter Cleaner as part of their ongoing routine.

About Spa Marvel®

Since 1994, The Spa Marvel Company has built its reputation on a simple idea: caring for a hot tub shouldn't mean a cabinet full of harsh chemicals. Spa Marvel's water treatments are enzyme-based, formulated from plant-derived enzymes that break down the organic matter — body oils, lotions, sweat, and other waste — that clouds water, causes scum lines and odors, and quietly consumes your sanitizer. By removing that organic load, Spa Marvel lets the sanitizer you do use work far more efficiently, so most owners maintain their water with considerably less chlorine or bromine.

The flagship product, Spa Marvel Water Treatment & Conditioner, is supported by a focused family of companion products: Spa Marvel Cleanser for purging biofilm and residue from plumbing at setup, and Spa Marvel Filter Cleaner for keeping cartridges flowing freely. The brand also makes Pool Marvel for swimming pools.

What keeps owners loyal is how the water feels and how little it asks of them. Spa Marvel conditions water so it's silky and soft, gentle on skin, hair, and bathing suits — a frequent favorite among people with sensitive skin, eczema, or psoriasis. It helps prevent foam and scum lines, minimizes scale buildup in the plumbing, supports steadier pH and alkalinity, and keeps water clear even for absentee owners who can't tend a spa every week. One bottle treats up to 500 gallons and lasts about three months. It's compatible with every common water care system — chlorine, bromine, salt, ozone, UV, ionizers, biguanides, and lithium — and it's backed by the company's satisfaction guarantee.

Spa Marvel is a treatment and conditioner, not a sanitizer, so it works alongside your existing chlorine or bromine program rather than replacing it. As an authorized Spa Marvel retailer, Leisure Time Inc. ships the full line nationwide, with knowledgeable support and free in-store water testing available at our Idaho showrooms.
