Pump Marvel works on a simple, motorless principle: pressurized water from your garden hose flows through the pump and creates suction as it passes, drawing the spa water along with it and pushing the combined flow out through the discharge hose. It's the same physics that lets a fast-moving stream pull other water into it — no electricity, no impeller, no moving parts to fail.

Here's the basic sequence:

1. A garden hose connects to the pump as the power source
2. The discharge hose routes to your drain point — up to 20 feet of vertical lift is available
3. Turning on the hose starts the suction, and spa water begins discharging immediately

Because the pump relies on continuous hose flow to create suction, the water leaving the discharge hose is a mix of your source water and the spa water — that's normal for a water-powered pump and is part of how it moves water so quickly and lifts it so high.

Pro Tip: Plan where the discharge goes before you start. 1. Connect a garden hose to the pump's inlet.
2. Attach the discharge hose — the included 12′ expandable 1¼″ hose, or a 1½″ pool hose for larger jobs — and route it to your drain point (up to 20 ft of lift).
3. Position the pump in the water to be drained, following the package instructions.
4. Turn on the garden hose. The pressure creates suction and water begins discharging.
5. Let it run until the tub is empty.
6. Turn off the garden hose to stop the pump, then disconnect and store.
