The FROG® Filter Mate Mineral Stick is the simplest way to bring FROG's patented mineral sanitizing technology to a spa that doesn't run on @ease. The mineral stick slides into the center of your existing filter cartridge, where the water that's already moving through your filter passes through the mineral chamber and picks up a low, steady dose of FROG® minerals on every cycle.
The payoff is significant: with minerals in the water, your spa needs roughly half the chlorine or bromine it would otherwise — because the minerals are doing the other half of the sanitizing work. You'll still add dichlor or bromine as your primary sanitizer, just less of it. The water kills bacteria two ways instead of one: minerals plus a reduced level of chlorine or bromine. Do FROG® cartridges really reduce how much chlorine I use?

How often do I replace the cartridges, and do I still need to shock?
Replacement timing depends on the product and your usage — mineral cartridges generally last for months, while sanitizer cartridges are swapped more often (the system's indicator tells you when). You'll still add a periodic shock to keep water freshly oxidized, but typically far less often than a fully manual program requires. Always follow the schedule printed on your specific product's packaging.
