Description

The FROG® @ease Sanitizing System for Sundance Spas is the complete starter kit for the @ease system custom-designed to fit Sundance® Spas. FROG and Sundance partnered on this version to deliver everything a Sundance owner needs to begin using @ease — both cartridges in the correct Sundance size, plus startup and testing essentials, in one box.

If you own a 780®, 880®, or 980® series Sundance Spa, this is the @ease kit built specifically for your hot tub. The cartridge sizes are different from the universal floating and Bullfrog versions of @ease — these are sized for the Sundance cartridge holder, which clips into your filter setup. From there, FROG handles the daily sanitizing work: minerals plus a low, self-regulating level of chlorine, automatically released as water circulates.

The chemistry is the same proven @ease formula: SmartChlor® is a unique chlorine compound that works only with FROG® minerals. It self-regulates, releasing more chlorine when the water demands it and pausing when the level is right. Paired with the minerals, the system sanitizes using up to 75% less chlorine than traditional water care — with no harsh chlorine smell, no daily dosing, and no weekly shocking.

Why a Sundance-Specific System Matters: FROG @ease comes in three different sizes (universal floating, Bullfrog, and Sundance) because each spa brand's dispenser is designed differently. Ordering the Sundance version means the cartridges seat properly in your holder the first time — no guessing, no returns, no workarounds.

FROG®

What's in the Box
  • 1 x FROG @ease SmartChlor® Cartridge (Sundance-sized) — lasts 3–4 weeks depending on use
  • 1 x FROG @ease Mineral Cartridge (Sundance-sized) — lasts up to 4 months
  • 1 x @ease Jump Start packet — startup product to bring fresh water up to sanitizer level fast
  • 1 x @ease Test Strips — single color-match strips for fast, easy reading

Important — Cartridge Holder Required: This kit does not include the Sundance cartridge holder. Modern 780, 880, and 980 series spas need the holder for the cartridges to seat properly. If you don't already own the holder, you'll need to add it to your order. Our team can help you confirm what you need — just reach out.

Key Features
  • Complete starter package — both cartridges plus Jump Start and test strips, everything you need to begin.
  • Sundance-specific sizing — cartridges built to seat in the Sundance cartridge holder, not interchangeable with universal floating or Bullfrog versions.
  • Up to 75% less chlorine — SmartChlor® Technology uses a fraction of the chlorine of traditional water care, with no chlorine smell and no fading swimwear.
  • Self-regulating sanitizer — releases chlorine only as your water demands it, holding a steady, gentle level instead of the spikes and dips of manual dosing.
  • Shock only once a month — versus the weekly shocking many manual programs require.
  • Works with Sundance CLEARRAY® — pairs seamlessly with Sundance's ozone-based water purification system for an even more hands-off approach.
  • Single color-match testing — designed for fast, easy reading with the included FROG @ease Test Strips.
How It Works

The Sundance @ease system pairs two cartridges in the Sundance cartridge holder, each with a distinct job:

The Mineral Cartridge

FROG® minerals are released into the water as a first line of defense against bacteria. The minerals condition the water and reduce the amount of chlorine needed to keep it clean — they're the reason @ease can run on so little chlorine. A single mineral cartridge typically lasts up to 4 months.

The SmartChlor® Cartridge

SmartChlor® holds a reserve of chlorine and releases it only when the active sanitizer level drops — then pauses once the water is balanced again. This self-regulating action keeps a consistent, low sanitizer level instead of the boom-and-bust cycle of adding chlorine by hand. Each cartridge lasts about 3–4 weeks depending on use.

Getting Started

You'll attach the cartridge holder to your spa's primary filter, snap both cartridges into the holder, then add the included Jump Start packet to bring fresh water up to a working sanitizer level. From there, water circulates through the cartridges during normal filtration cycles and the system sanitizes automatically. You'll typically swap several SmartChlor® cartridges before the mineral cartridge is spent.

Pro Tip: Pairs Beautifully with CLEARRAY®— If your Sundance spa has the CLEARRAY ozone system, @ease and CLEARRAY work together: CLEARRAY oxidizes contaminants in the circulation loop, while @ease maintains a steady low residual sanitizer in the water. The result is the lowest-touch water care a Sundance spa can run.

Directions for Use
  1. Balance your water first. On a fresh fill, balance pH (7.2–7.8) and total alkalinity before starting the system.
  2. Add the @ease Jump Start packet. Use the included Jump Start to quickly bring fresh water up to an effective sanitizer level, per the package directions.
  3. Attach the cartridge holder. Clip the Sundance cartridge holder onto your spa's primary filter per the holder's instructions. (Sold separately if you don't already own one.)
  4. Snap in both cartridges. Insert the mineral cartridge and the SmartChlor® cartridge into the holder.
  5. Run with jets on. Let the spa circulate; SmartChlor® will self-regulate to its steady level over the first few days.
  6. Test with the included strips. Check sanitizer and pH weekly and after heavy use, adjusting as needed.
  7. Replace the SmartChlor® cartridge every 3–4 weeks depending on use.
  8. Replace the mineral cartridge every 4 months (or at your next water change).
  9. Shock monthly. Add a monthly oxidizing shock to keep water fresh and clear, following your shock product's label dosing.

Pro Tip: Follow the Label First— Always follow the instructions printed on your spa's manual and on the cartridge packaging — they take precedence over any general guidance. Spa size, bather load, and water source all affect how quickly cartridges are consumed.

FROG® Brand FAQs

What makes FROG® different from regular chlorine or bromine?

FROG uses minerals as a first line of defense, which lets it sanitize with a much lower level of chlorine or bromine than traditional systems. Minerals and sanitizer work together to keep water clean two ways at once. The payoff for you is water that feels softer, has little to no chemical smell, and takes far less hands-on maintenance.

What is "Fresh Mineral Water®"?

It's FROG's term for the water its systems create: cleaner, clearer, softer, and easier to maintain. The minerals condition the water and help hold pH steady, while the reduced sanitizer level handles the rest — so you get sparkling water that's gentler on skin, hair, and swimwear than heavily chlorinated water.

Do FROG® cartridges really reduce how much chlorine I use?

Yes. Because the minerals do part of the sanitizing work, FROG® systems need significantly less chlorine or bromine to keep water clean. The @ease line with SmartChlor® Technology, for example, can use a fraction of the chlorine of a conventional hot tub program while still keeping the water properly sanitized.

How do the pre-filled cartridges work?

Each FROG® cartridge comes pre-filled with the right mineral or sanitizer formula — there's nothing to measure or mix. You simply drop or snap the cartridge into its holder or dispenser, set it, and let it do the work as water circulates. When a cartridge is spent, you swap in a fresh one. That's the "no mess, no guess, no stress" approach
FROG® is known for.

Will FROG® products work with my pool, hot tub, or swim spa?

FROG® makes systems for all three, in sizes ranging from small hot tubs to large in-ground pools, so there's almost always a fit. Some products are model-specific (for example, @ease cartridges sized for particular spa brands), so it's worth confirming the right version for your equipment. If you're unsure which FROG® product matches your setup, reach out and we'll help you pin it down.

How often do I replace the cartridges, and do I still need to shock?

Replacement timing depends on the product and your usage — mineral cartridges generally last for months, while sanitizer cartridges are swapped more often (the system's indicator tells you when). You'll still add a periodic shock to keep water freshly oxidized, but typically far less often than a fully manual program requires. Always follow the schedule printed on your specific product's packaging.

About Frog®

For more than 25 years, FROG® has been making pool, hot tub, and swim spa care dramatically simpler — without asking owners to compromise on water quality. Made by King Technology, FROG built its reputation on one patented idea: combine the natural cleaning power of minerals with a low, steady level of sanitizer, so your water stays clean using far less chlorine or bromine than traditional methods.

The result is what FROG calls Fresh Mineral Water® — water that's cleaner because it fights bacteria two ways (minerals plus a low level of sanitizer), clearer because balanced minerals help hold pH steady, and softer because those same minerals condition the water for a gentler feel on your skin. And it's easier, because nearly everything comes in pre-filled, drop-in cartridges. No measuring, no mess, no guesswork.

That convenience-first philosophy runs through the entire FROG lineup — from the SmartChlor®-powered @ease systems for hot tubs and swim spas, to the bromine-based Serene line, to the POOL FROG and Flippin' FROG systems for pools of every size, plus a full range of support chemicals and problem-solvers. Whatever you're sanitizing, there's a FROG product sized for it, and they're all built around the same goal: less time on maintenance, more time enjoying the water.
