Description

SpaGuard System Flush cleans the part of your spa you never see — the plumbing. Behind the shell, your spa's pipes and circulation lines slowly accumulate built-up grime, lotions, body oils, hair- and skin-care residue, and biofilm. None of it is visible, but all of it works against you: it clogs the circulation system, harbors contaminants that cloud fresh water almost as soon as you add it, and makes your sanitizer and balancers work harder than they should.

System Flush is designed to be used right before you drain, clean, and refill your spa. Run through the plumbing while the old water is still in the tub, it breaks that hidden buildup loose so it drains away with the water instead of staying behind to contaminate your fresh fill. The result is a circulation system that operates efficiently, water chemistry that's easier to balance and maintain, and noticeably better water condition from the very first soak after a refill.

It's the step most spa owners skip — and the one that makes a drain-and-refill actually deliver clean water. It works with all sanitizer systems and all spa sizes.

Pro Tip: Build System Flush into your regular drain-and-refill routine. A flush four times a year — once with each quarterly water change — keeps biofilm from ever establishing itself in the plumbing. Flushing only when you notice a problem means the buildup is already affecting your water.

SpaGuard®

What's in the Box
  • 1 x SpaGuard System Flush — 24 oz (one full bottle treats one hot tub)

Note: One 24 oz bottle is a single full-tub treatment — the entire bottle is added per flush. Keep the bottle tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place; mix only with water, never with other chemicals.

Key Features
  • Cleans hidden plumbing buildup — removes grime, lotions, body oils, skin- and hair-care residue, and debris from inside the spa's pipes and circulation lines.
  • Restores circulation efficiency — clearing the lines lets the pump and circulation system move water freely.
  • Improves water condition and chemistry — eliminates the hidden contaminants that cloud fresh water and fight your sanitizer.
  • Used before a drain and refill — flushes the buildup out with the old water so your fresh fill starts truly clean.
  • One bottle per tub — simple, full-dose 24 oz treatment.
  • Works with all systems and sizes — every sanitizer type and every spa size.
How It Works

Most of a spa's water spends its life moving through plumbing you can't see. Over months of use, the oils and organic residue bathers leave behind coat the inside of those pipes and combine with bacteria to form biofilm — a slick, stubborn layer that ordinary draining never removes. Because it's sealed inside the plumbing, biofilm survives a water change and immediately starts contaminating the new water, which is why a freshly refilled spa can cloud up or smell off far sooner than it should.

SpaGuard System Flush is a concentrated plumbing cleaner. Added to the water with the pump running, it circulates through the entire system and breaks the oily buildup and biofilm loose from the pipe walls. Once it's lifted free, you drain the spa and the contaminants leave with the water — so when you refill, your plumbing is clean and your fresh water stays fresh. That clean system is what lets your circulation run efficiently and your water chemistry behave the way it's supposed to.

Pro Tip: Pair the flush with a filter cleaning for a complete reset. While the flush circulates, your dirty cartridge is part of the system — so clean or replace the filter as part of the same job (SpaGuard Filter Cleaner handles the cartridge). Flushing the plumbing but reinstalling a gunked-up filter undoes half the work.

Directions for Use

Use prior to draining, cleaning, and refilling your spa.

  1. Remove the cartridge filter and clean it with SpaGuard Filter Cleaner per its label directions (or replace it).
  2. Apply the entire contents of the bottle (24 oz) directly to the spa water with the pump on.
  3. Circulate the water for 15 minutes.
  4. Turn the pump off and completely drain the spa water.
  5. Clean the surface of your spa with a spa surface cleaner.
  6. Reinsert the cleaned cartridge filter, refill the spa, balance the water, and resume use.

Pro Tip: Don't skip the drain. System Flush works by lifting buildup off the pipe walls and into the water — that loosened gunk needs to leave with the old water. Always run the flush on the water you're about to dump, never on a fresh fill you plan to keep.

SpaGuard® Brand FAQs

What is SpaGuard?

SpaGuard is a professional-grade brand of spa and hot tub water care products — sanitizers, shocks, balancers, and water enhancers — formulated specifically for spas rather than adapted from pool chemicals. The line is designed to work together as a complete system for clean, clear, comfortable water.

Who makes SpaGuard?

SpaGuard is part of the BioGuard family of water care brands, a long-established name in pool and spa chemistry. That backing means the formulas are professionally developed and tested, with a reputation built over decades in the industry.

What water care systems does SpaGuard offer?

SpaGuard supports three complete care methods: a chlorine system, a bromine system, and the Soft Soak TRIO system. Each is a coordinated set of products, so you can match your routine to the sanitizer you prefer.

What makes SpaGuard different from generic spa chemicals?

SpaGuard products are engineered for the unique demands of hot, agitated, heavily used spa water, and they're built to work together as a system. That coordination delivers more reliable, repeatable results than mixing unrelated single products.

What is ALEX water testing?

ALEX is SpaGuard's exclusive computerized water-analysis tool used by its dealers. A quick water sample produces a precise read on your spa's chemistry and a tailored recommendation, taking the guesswork out of what to add and when.

Why buy SpaGuard from an authorized dealer?

SpaGuard dealers are trained on the brand's products and water-care technology, so you get expert advice alongside genuine product. They can run an ALEX analysis, troubleshoot issues, and recommend exactly what your water needs.

About SpaGuard®

SpaGuard is a professional-grade line of spa and hot tub water care products engineered specifically for spas — not pool chemicals repackaged for a smaller tub. Built around a simple, proven approach (balance the water, sanitize it, shock it, and keep it clear), SpaGuard products are formulated to work together as a system across three care methods: chlorine, bromine, and the Soft Soak TRIO system.

Because the formulas are made for the unique demands of hot, agitated, heavily used spa water, owners get reliable, repeatable results with less guesswork. SpaGuard is also backed by a trained dealer network and ALEX water-analysis tools, so when a water issue does come up, there's an expert-tested path to fixing it. It's a trusted choice for anyone who wants clean, comfortable, sparkling water with a maintenance routine they can actually keep up with.
