How to Drain, Clean, and Refill Your Hot Tub
How to Begin
Hot Tubs and Spas are relatively simple to maintain and use once you get the hang of it and understand a few basic things.
Most hot tub owners complete a full drain and refill of their spas and hot tubs twice a year, or every six months. This of course all depends on the number of people use the hot tub and how often the spa is used.
What does this mean for you
- Clean, crisp, beautiful water
Draining your spa or hot tub is usually the easiest process. Most hot tubs have drain plugs located on the bottom, front portion of the spa. Simply remove the drain cap and with some hot tubs turn a valve.
Hoses work well too! Utilizing a garden hose, or my personal favorite, one inch Flexible PVC, start a syphon.
Sump Pumps are the cleanest, easiest way to drain a hot tub.
There are a number of great products that can assist you in cleaning the surface of your hot tub.
The simplest method is a little water and vinegar with a clean rag.
Grap your garden hose and fill it up! Some Hot Tubs require soft water.
Hot Tub maintenance shouldn't be too complicated. A good hot tub and program means less time maintaining and more time enjoying.
